Brian Peck

Head Coach

We are thrilled to introduce our new head coach for the Sutter Lawn Tsunamis swim season! Brian Peck comes to us with a wealth of experience as a swimmer and a coach. Coach Brian started swimming at the age of 8 on the Sacramento Stingrays and continued as a Stingray for ten years until age 18!

He has coached teams for the Stingrays, Gold River Racquet Club, The Tahoe Park Torpedoes, Del Norte and at Mira Loma High School as men’s and women’s varsity swim coach and water polo coach. Brian’s passion for swimming started within our league and he hopes to provide many of the same positive memories he has for our swimmers this year and in years to come!

Come and meet Coach Brian at our swim sign ups February 17 (members and returning swimmers) or February 24th (new swimmers, non-members).

It’s going to be a great year!

Jody d'Eon

Assistant Coach

Coach Jody d’Eon began his swimming career at the age of four and fell in love with the water immediately. Since then he has spent a good portion of his life in or around pools, rivers, lakes, and oceans. He started swimming for a small club team at the age of 6. The team was young and would usually come in third at championships. His second year on the team they won second place and everyone was ecstatic. And finally, during Jody’s third year on the team, the struggling little club with a big heart finally beat the notorious Stingrays by four points and won first place. That team was the Rollingwood Rockets, and he stayed with them until the age of 16. Jody is now excited to join another club with a big heart and take a shot at his old team.

Coach Jody continued swimming and began playing water polo in High School where he was awarded the Most Valuable Swimmer and Most Valuable Player awards.

Coach Jody began coaching at 17 for the Orangevale Tigersharks. He spent two years there teaching lessons and coaching before moving to Sierra College to just teach swim lessons. He is excited to be back on deck with the Tsunamis doing what he loves.

Coach Jody is currently an English major at Sierra College. He is planning on transferring to Sac State next fall.

Henry Appel

Junior Coach

Coach Henry has been swimming competitively since the age of 6. He is currently preparing to graduate from Mira Loma High School, where he swims and plays water polo. Henry has been an avid water polo player since he was in the 7th grade, and has led his high school team to the section tournament in each of his 4 years on the team. Henry also swam for the Rio Del Oro Rapids for the last 10 years, and hopes to continue swimming and playing water polo in college.
Henry joins the Tsunami’s as a Junior Coach and will focus on working with the younger kids. He is very excited to join the Tsunamis for the summer of 2011 and beyond.
