Special congratulations go to USTA Northern California "Players of the Year," Charlene Marcum and Coco Taylor, for having finished the season ranked #1 in Women’s 2.5 Doubles. Both have been moved up to 3.0, were the teams of DeAnn Clark and Tracey Skinner (#2); Susan Brown and Susan De# Marois (#6); Martha Gates and Shelly Messner (#7), and Daune Kirrene, who finished #9 with Deirdre Greenholz and #11 with Katy Hughes. Maria Bult and Rebecca Williams also finished #11, tied with the Kirrene/ Hughes team. Daune Kirrene also finished #6 in the Women’s 2.5 Singles; clearly she had a great season. Congratulations also to George Biery, who finished the season #2 in Men’s 2.5 Singles and was also moved up to the NTRP 3.0 skill-level. Clearly, SLTC players are on the move and will be forces to reckon with in our May and August home tournaments, the Central Cal and the August Summer Classic.
Youth Tennis The Sutter Lawn Youth Tennis Program has been a huge success! Our players are doing great, they have learned so much these past few months and are starting to play some real tennis! Well done to all the kids who made the Jr. Tennis Team a great success. Thanks so much to DeeDee Clark and Jason Johnson for all of their hard work.
